The Noisy Brain Cookbook
Picture recipes for adults with ADHD
FAQs
Is this cookbook suitable for beginner home cooks?
Absolutely! The book is designed for both experienced and beginner home cooks. All the instructions are broken down into short and simple steps; so they’re easy to follow and track.
Why do you include both pictorial and text-based recipes?
It’s simply preference. Some prefer text-based, while others work better with visuals.
Personally, I have days where I just can’t seem to absorb words and other days where colours and images overwhelm me.
So, I use them interchangeably. I’ve always made sure I make both formats whenever I rewrite recipes for my own use.
Who would benefit most from using this cookbook?
For ADHD, AuDHD and Neurodivergent adults:

Who should NOT BUY this cookbook?
Those with advanced cooking skills may find less value in this cookbook. The detailed instructions, including basic tasks like boiling pasta, cater to individuals who benefit from a more structured approach.
If you already work well or love how most recipes are written, you might not appreciate this cookbook for the same reasons as above.
Which measurement units do you use?
All recipes include both metric and US standard units of measurements.
How did you determine the effort level for each recipe?
The recipes were measured based on the number of ingredients, tools, steps and time required. I categorised the average as medium, while the extremes became low or high.

Do you have any recommendations for printing?
Remember, please only print for your own use to avoid any breach of copyright law.
Print on A4-sized paper or other ISO standard sizes. The best is to have them wire bound for ease of use.
Alternatively, keep them in plastic folders or similar, so you don’t have to worry about spills and reuse them as needed.
Be mindful of the recipe pages when printing individual recipes, so you don’t end up mixing one recipe instructions with another recipe’s ingredients list.
If you plan on printing the entire book, there are activity pages included in the cookbook as filler pages (word searches, maze puzzles and sudoku puzzles), so you won’t have any recipes starting or ending awkwardly.
