The Noisy Brain Cookbook

Picture recipes for adults with ADHD

Who's the Cook?

I’m Ada. Many many moons ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD and PDD-NOS — now AuDHD since the ASD umbrella (Autism Spectrum Disorder) was introduced.

I’m married to the brilliant artist behind all the art and illustrations in my cookbook and newsletter. The Noisy Brain is essentially our brainchild.

Having a noisy brain myself, I understand the difficulties and struggles of eating and cooking when you have ADHD.

That’s why I have a range of recipes with varying effort levels, and they’re always written and formatted for an ADHD brain.

No matter how many times I’ve made a dish, I will almost always use my recipe card so I can cook “brainlessly” and just let my limbs do the work.

Making Cooking Brainless

More than the dishes, each recipe is deliberately written and formatted for an ADHD brain. It focuses on making cooking a more physical activity rather than a mentally-demanding one.

The entire premise of my cookbook is simple: do the step, tick the box and move on. No worries about what, how much and when. The recipe card will be the one to keep you guided and grounded.

Steps are listed realistically and in sequence of action. Prompts and reminders are included in the steps itself to help keep things flowing.

No more scouring a recipe card figuring what’s first and next and no more forgotten, overcooked things.

Instructions are pictorial or short, simple texts—no long paragraphs, ever. And measurements are always included in the steps—no scrolling up and down for amounts, ever.

By keeping you on track & in flow

Most of us ADHD-ers are wizards when it comes to snacking and making the most interesting sandwiches.

But we usually struggle with cooking "full and proper" meals, even when following a recipe. If you can relate, you might find my cookbook helpful.

Each recipe is an all-in-one manual, guiding you from start to finish. No need to hunt down three different recipes and stress over coordinating them.

When there are multiple sides, the recipe will guide you to prepare everything together seamlessly.
