THE NOISY BRAIN COOKBOOK
Recipes for adults with ADHD
In 2023, I shared my first recipe sample...

...and the responses were awesome!
Cooking with an ADHD brain can be paralysing & overwhelming.
Overcooking things
Forgetting side dishes
ADHD rage
Paralysis from overthinking the future
Paralysis from indecision
Too shattered to do it again
Falling sick & broke from junk and takeaways
Overwhelmed with juggling multiple tasks
And then, there’s the agony of following a recipe...
Most recipes are not formatted for our bustling brains.
Long-winded instructions
Multiple steps within a paragraph, making individual steps easily missed.
Unrealistic timing
Not all of us are garlic-chopping ninjas, are we?
Disjointed, non-chronological steps
Steps for main dish & sides are often separated and not in sequence. This can be confusing when we’re cooking multiple components.
Measurements not included in the steps
Oh, the hassle of toggling between pages to find them!
Unspecific timing or description
Am I to sauté indefinitely or is there a suggested outcome?

A happy feedback from an Alpha Tester
“I like the fact that the recipe really didn't have any "down time" where I was waiting for something to happen.”
“It made me feel a lot more relaxed, and the meal was prepared in about half the time I usually take when making anything...”

Meet Ada Riggo:
From grazing extraordinaire to routined home cook
Learn about Ada’s journey from junk monster & takeaway regular to designated family cook for Sunday roasts.
Ada was diagnosed with ADHD and Level 1 Autism.
She struggled with burnt meals, fits of rage mid-cooking, and a diet of junk and takeaways.
Realising she wasn’t incompetent, but struggled with juggling complex cooking tasks, she sought a solution.
Ada envisioned straightforward recipes with simple instructions and a way to keep her in flow and on track.
Unable to find many recipes and cookbooks that suited her, she started decoding and reformatting recipes herself.
Now, cooking and feeding herself well, feels natural and no longer an inevitable cause for executive dysfunction.
This cookbook contains recipes from Ada’s 12-year collection.
She hopes the book brings people joy in cooking, inspire others to rewrite recipes to fit their ideals and above all, feed themselves better.
